It's gardening time again...

It's officially that time of year again!  Time to plant the garden.  Michael got the garden ready last week (i.e. he plowed and tilled it) and we planted most of it this past weekend.  So far we have 3 rows of green beans, about 6 tomato plants and 6 cucumber plants.  We'll plant some other stuff in a few weeks!  I'll take some pictures and post them when things start coming up!

Michael also had a wild hair that he was going to put up one of those cheapo pools for Callie.  You know...one of the ones that you can buy for like $250 at Walmart or something.  But wait for it....he didn't just set it out on the grass....he takes the tractor and excavates (LOL) and levels the whole friggin back yard practically.  I don'tk now what he was smoking!  So now we are going to put some of that rubber mulch down and put her play set on that.  Might as well since the whole backyard is dirt at this point.  LOL  He finally got the ground leveled enough for the pool so now all we need is mulch and some rock and maybe a few other plants to landscape a bit since the ground is already prepped for something at this point!  HA!

I desperately need to take pictures....I know it's hard to picture what I am talking about with just words...I will try to take some pictures tonight.  I was gonna take some over the weekend but the camera card was full.  I almost just bought another one so I could take pictures....Yes, I guess I am too lazy to just move the pictures over to a cd....it just seems easier to buy a new card!  :-)

Toodles!

Weekend wrap-up!

It was a GREAT weekend!  We don't have enough of those.  You know...one of those weekends that on Sunday evening you are sitting back, all relaxed, and you're smiling because you had some satisfying time away from work!  It was one of those weekends for us!

I didn't actually get to see Michael much.  It was shift change weekend so he worked Friday (off Saturday morning) and then he worked again on Sunday (off this morning)...and he went to visit his parents on Saturday and he took Callie with him.  Their neighbors were having an auction of some farm equipment (total snoozefest) and I told him straight up that that didn't interest me in the slightest.  He offered to take Callie so I could relax but instead I asked my mom if she wanted to get out and run around a bit for her birthday.  Her birthday is tomorrow!  So we loaded up and went to Bowling Green shopping.  We hit the mall, then we went to Target, then to Kohl's, then to Smokey Bones to eat, to GFS and Sam's for some bulk shopping!  HA!!  We had a fantastic time!  She has said several times just in the last day or so what a good time she had.  I think it was good for us to have some time without Callie.  Obviously we enjoy being with her immensely....but just like it is for me and Michael...Lord knows when you are out with a toddler or eating or whatever...they take all of your attention.  So it was nice to just sit and talk to her without having to yell at Callie to eat or to stop screaming, etc!  HA!  It was also nice in the mall to just be able to zoom in and out of stores without dealing with a stroller!  Yay for that!  I mainly bought clothes for Callie...funny how that works when you have kids, huh?

Not sure I have mentioned it on here but I am into the new couponing thing!  I've been having a blast doing it.  I decided that I wasn't going to be too crazy.  I just wanted to get better deals on the things that we use all the time.  Here is my haul from Rite Aid yesterday morning....

I got all of this for $12 after coupons and UP Rewards that I had that would be expiring this week.  I will also get $12 in rebates back so all in all I pretty much broke even/made money!  I was THRILLED!!  I LOVE couponing.  I need to get better at figuring out food deals at the grocery store.  I have Rite Aid down to a science now!  I love it!!

We have been trying to work on our landscaping between torrential downpours.  I will try to take some pictures of that once we get a couple more areas done!  Right now I am fighting with myself over what shrubs to plant down one side of the house!  There are lots of things that I love....but most of them have at least a few downfalls too.  So hopefully I can decide this week and we can get that done!  Michael is also gonna use a tractor to scrape the grass under Callie's play set and we are going to try to put some of that rubber mulch under it.  We'll see!!  I will update with pictures of that as we get to work on it!!

Now I am off to look at what types of deals I can get next week at Rite Aid!!

I know this is probably boring....so bear with me!  I will come up with a little more creative content maybe!
